The pipeline gas business in Haikou began in 1993 when Haikou Pipeline Gas Co., Ltd. was established. In 1997, the company was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (stock code 000793), becoming the first listed company in China's urban gas industry.

In 1998, the joint-stock company was restructured into a group, and Hainan Minsheng Pipeline Gas Co., Ltd., specializing in Haikou pipeline gas operations, was simultaneously established.
